|
PURPOSE OF LIFE |
|
Man
is
made to bow to God alone, not to any one else. As a creature it is wrong
on the part of man to be independent of his Creator. It is also wrong to
offer worship to any one other than the Creator.
|
|
"Worship the Creator – Not His
creation" |
|
“And
we certainly sent into every people a messenger, (proclaiming): “Worship
Allah (Alone) and avoid Tagut (all false deities)”
(َQur’an: 16:36). |
|
Whenever someone utters ‘Oh, God! out of
shock or sheer despair he addresses the same entity as another from a
different religion. |
|
Life
is neither futile nor absurd as Sartre* and Camus* wrote. Life is
for meaningful purposes. Life is a trust (Amanat) from God and man
should handle this trust mindful of God and conscious of his
responsibility to God. Belief in the Oneness of God and in the
Hereafter only can bring an aim and purpose for life. The Best use of
life is to live it according to the guidance of God and make it a safe
passage to the future life of eternity (‘Aa'khira’). |
|
“O mankind, indeed we have created you from male and
female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.
Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most
righteous of you. Indeed Allah is knowing and acquainted.”
(Qur’an:49:13) |
| Man
is born in a natural state of purity. The idea of original sin has no
room in true religion. The faculty of distinguishing and selecting
between right and wrong is the most precious/momentous gift bestowed on
man. Whatever becomes a man after birth is a result of external
influence and his use or abuse of this limited free will bestowed
on him. This Freedom of choice, bestowed on man, is the corner
stone of ‘man’s Responsibility in this world/life. |
|
“And (by) the
soul
and He who proportioned it. And inspired it (with discernment of) its
wickedness and its righteousness. He has succeeded who purifies it ,
And he has failed who corrupts it ”
(Qur’an: 91:7..10) |
|
Mankind
will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment after every thing on earth is
destroyed. The Holy Quran says: |
|
“On
that day, the people will depart in groups sorted out, to be shown (the
result) of their deed.
Whoever does an
atom’s Weight of good will see it. And whoever does an atom’s weight of
evil will see it.”
(Qur’an: 99-6,7,8) |
|
“By
time, indeed mankind is in loss, except such as have faith, and do
righteous deed, and exhort people to truth and to patience and constancy”
(Qur’an: 103:1,2,3) |
| Islam
is the only religion known by an ideal - The ideal of total
submission to the will of One God. It establishes a unique ideal
relationship between man and God beyond the realms of time and space. It
aims at spiritual and materialistic purification and growth of man. All
other religions are known either by their founders or places of origin
or castes or communities to which they were preached.
|
|
“And
whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of
him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers”
(Qur’an: 3:85) |
| The Quran
is the word of God. It supersedes all previous revelations. It is the
only scripture in human history that has been preserved in its complete
and original version. Sayings of prophet Mohammad(s.a.) are the
practical interpretation of Quran. |
|
“[He]
who created death and life to test you (as to) which of you is best in
deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving”
(Qur’an: 67:2) |
|
“And I
(Allah) created not jinns* and mankind except they should worship Me
(Alone)”
(Qur’an: 51:56) |
|
Say: “O
People Of the Book! Come to a word that is just between us and you :
That we worship none but Allah; That we associate no partners with Him;
and That none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah
(Qur’an: 3:64)
|
Once you realize this truth, testify that:
“THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH; TESTIFY THAT
MOHAMMED IS HIS MESSENGER”
|
|
Read:
“QUR’AN”
(where
the Subject is Man & the Object is Guidance)
